Equator Private is a financial technology (FinTech) company providing technology-enabled financial and payment solutions, operating in partnership with Sohar International Bank, licensed and regulated by the Central Bank of Oman.
On this page
Equator Private provides the technology; banking is provided by a licensed institution. Here is how the two roles are separated.
01 Equator
Equator Private provides the technology platform, digital interface, customer experience and related technology and programme-management services.
02 Bank
Banking, account, payment, settlement and, where applicable, safeguarding services are provided by Sohar International Bank or by another appropriately licensed financial institution.
03 Together
Equator’s technology and the licensed bank’s regulated services combine into a single, secure experience: fast onboarding, real-time payments and 24/7 access, backed by bank-grade protection and oversight.
The regulated financial services made available through the Equator platform are provided by the appropriately licensed financial institution.
Where a service is provided by another regulated institution, the relevant provider and regulatory status will be identified in the applicable terms and conditions.
Equator Private’s role is limited to the provision of technology, platform, programme management and related services within the scope of its contractual arrangements with the relevant regulated financial institution.
