Website terms of use
The terms that govern your use of this website. Accounts and payment services are covered by a separate customer agreement and by the terms of our licensed partner bank, Sohar International Bank.
On this page
What you agree to by using this website, and who you are agreeing with.
These terms govern your use of equatorprivate.com. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. Last updated: 13 September 2026.
The site is operated by Equator Group, 18th November St, Al Ghubra, Muscat, Oman.
Opening or holding an account is governed by a separate customer agreement presented during onboarding, together with the terms of our licensed partner bank, Sohar International Bank. Where those documents conflict with these terms, those documents prevail for the service concerned.
An important point, stated plainly.
01 Equator
Equator Private is a financial technology company. We build and operate the platform, the digital interface and the customer experience.
02 Bank
Regulated account, payment and settlement services are provided by Sohar International Bank, licensed and regulated by the Central Bank of Oman, not by Equator Private. Details are on our regulatory page.
03 Clarity
Pricing, limits and conditions are set out in your customer agreement before you commit — no hidden charges and no terms buried in small print. If anything on this site is unclear, ask us and we will explain it in writing.
Who may use the services, and where they are offered.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. Accounts are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and our acceptance criteria, and we may decline an application without giving reasons where the law prevents us from explaining.
Our services are not available in every country. We restrict access from certain territories and do not direct our services to persons in jurisdictions where doing so would breach local law or sanctions. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you.
The information on this site is general in nature and does not constitute an offer or solicitation in any jurisdiction where that would be unlawful.
The behaviour we expect, and what is not permitted.
You agree not to use the site or the portal to commit or facilitate fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing or sanctions evasion; not to attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, account or data; not to probe, scan or stress-test our infrastructure without written permission; not to scrape or systematically extract content; and not to introduce malicious code or interfere with the service.
Keep your credentials confidential and tell us immediately if you suspect they have been compromised. We may suspend or close access where we reasonably suspect misuse, a security risk, or a breach of law or of these terms.
Who owns what, and the limits of our responsibility.
All content on this site — text, design, graphics, logos and software — belongs to Equator Group or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. You may view and print pages for your own use. Any other reproduction, republication or commercial use requires our written permission. “Equator Private” and the Equator logo are our marks; other marks belong to their owners.
We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or up to date at every moment, and we may change or withdraw any part of it. Rates, features and product descriptions are indicative and subject to the applicable customer agreement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue or data, arising from your use of this website. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud.
Where we link to third-party sites we do so for convenience. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or their handling of your data.
Which law applies, and how to reach us.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman, and the courts of Muscat have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection you enjoy where you live.
We may update these terms; the version published on this page applies from the date shown at the top. If you are unhappy with any aspect of the service, please use our complaints procedure.
